The Paranormal Society for Historically Informed Ghost Hunting uses a ring-and-beam coordinate system for defining geographical zones. The center of the ring series is located in Fort Payne, Alabama, the most haunted city in America; the fulcrum point of the beam series is located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The step-wise distance between different geometric features is defined by natural geology, as can be seen in the map.
Members of the Society are conducting investigations at 14 sites (spanning T4R2 to T1) from October 2024 through March 2025.
