The Society conducts formal haunting audits for hotels, historic properties, and private residences.
Each investigation concludes, where the evidence permits, in a numbered and publicly verifiable determination: Certified Not Haunted or Certified Haunted.

How certification works
A commission to investigate, never to ratify.
The property owner purchases the audit. The determination remains the independent finding of the Society.

Eligibility Review
The Society establishes authority to commission the work, the suitability of the site, and the proper scope of inquiry.

Site Dossier
Documentary history, architectural conditions, prior testimony, local ghost-lore, and the present social use of the property are assembled.
- 03
Diagnostic Survey
Investigators record the material and environmental conditions against which unusual events must be evaluated.

Invigilated Encounter
The site is observed under a defined protocol, with controlled provocations introduced where they are methodologically appropriate.

Review & Determination
The record is examined for correspondences, recurrent anomalies, alternative explanations, and evidence of independent agency.

Certification & Registry
A qualifying property receives a numbered certificate, a findings report, and a verifiable public record subject to the owner’s privacy election.

A qualifying property receives a findings report, an archival paper certificate, an individual registry number, and—where the owner elects public registration—a permanent verification page.
A fabricated plaque may be commissioned after the determination is issued. The form may change; the wording and standing of the finding may not.
